Love love love love love this movie. For many reasons. It's excellent in its own right. My girlfriend and I went to see it at the Nickelodeon in downtown Santa Cruz when it was re-released in the US. It knocked our socks off. I had never encountered an animated film that so deftly used the medium to tell such a grown-up, realistic story. It was drizzly, so I held the umbrella as we walked to the car. Then, as I fumbled with the keys, in a flash, our first kiss. I dropped the umbrella and we stood in the drizzle
