Who knew that the places everyone goes to see what everyone else knows are precisely the places where nobody knows anything.
It was a truism among my 30+ years of employment that there were two kinds of people, long-timers and short-timers. The short timers were more prolific and intelligent in their ways. The long-timers would be cranky and say no a lot and be the ones everyone has to convince.
Until one day when the short-timer was no longer happy working with long-timers and leaves for a better place. Usually within a year or two.
It’s another truism that the smartest people are the most unhappy.
