The campaign of opinion against mastodon, is my faith interesting: yes it is not "amusing" (what criteria? the beauferies of Facebook or Twitter)? Not secure: when you have to digest more than 1M registrations, it goes after, as for compliance with the RGPD. Mastodon is to Twitter, what GNU/Linux is to Microsoft Windows: a bazaar, transformed into a cathedral and decentralized chapels / That non-geeks adapt. On those, have a nice weekend
