@khw @augieray The idea that we will just have to learn to live with it is not acceptable. We have to continue to put all the resources we can into developing a vaccine that can stop it. While doing that, the least the rest of us can do is to try to curb the spread and mutation. Ignoring it is not an option.

@khw @augieray I agree that COVID is not likely go away, but it is doing serious damage now and we should do everything we can reasonably do to avoid it. In time we will have effective treatments that will minimize permanent damage. But until then I won’t drop my guard on COVID.

My first line of defense is my mask. I don't understand why it is such a big deal to wear one. We have realities to face and denying them won't make them go away. I've had five vaccines and three months since my last. I'm trying to decide the best timing for my next. Meanwhile, I still hike, take photos, see friends under appropriate conditions and live as normally as I can. It is what it is and pretending that everything is fine won't make it go away.
