In the (unlikely?) event you're here and also still on Meta's platforms, it's time to leave. They've begun to shutdown dissent at the request of the Trump administration. While fediverse alternatives exist, a lot of the people still on Meta's platforms struggle to wrap their heads around the fediverse.

That's why we're building a nonprofit, cooperative alternative. We can build something usable for everyone, but governed by all of us together.

I created Communities because I wanted to give people somewhere to go that wasn't controlled by billionaires (and never would be).

Somewhere that wasn't twitter-like (Mastodon, Bluesky) and that was easier to use than the fediverse (Friendica, Diaspora).

Now it exists. There's still a lot of work to do. But the foundation has been laid and if you're eager to get off of billionaire own platforms, then come over and bring your friends!
