Chief Scientific Officer at @cybernetica. Bleeding edge tech in privacy, identity, cybersecurity, e-government. Personal opinions only. On Mastodon, mostly technical ramblings on MPC and Sharemind.

Is MPC pseudonymisation, anonymisation, joint controllership, de-identification?

The panel at the Real World MPC workshop had a list of privacy tech experts in Europe to explain.

Mida digitaalsemaks meie elu muutub, seda rohkem on selle turvalisena hoidmiseks vaja head krüptograafiat, kirjutab akadeemik ja Cybernetica ASi teadusdirektor Dan Bogdanov.

In a group of 39 organisations and 43 experts we call on Commissioner Virkkunen for a scientific evidence-based approach to #encryption 💪🏽

The announcement from the European Commission about a “Technology Roadmap on encryption” has raised several questions because of plans to enable law enforcement authorities access to encrypted data 🙅🏽‍♀️

We ask for meaningful participation of experts to safeguard #cybersecurity and #Fundamental Rights.

The Carbyne Stack cloud-native framework for MPC applications is now a Linux Foundation project.

Cybernetica is among the partners committed to developing it. We believe that our industry will save money and avoid vendor lock-ins by agreeing on this standard.

Trilithium: Efficient and Universally Composable Distributed ML-DSA Signing

In this paper, we present Trilithium: a protocol for distributed key generation and signing compliant with FIPS 204 (ML-DSA). Our protocol allows two parties, ``server'' and ``phone'' with assistance of correlated randomness provider (CRP) to produce a standard ML-DSA signature. We prove our protocol to be secure against a malicious server or phone in the universal composability model, introducing some novel techniques to argue the security of two-party secure computation protocols with active security against one party, but only active privacy against the other. We provide an implementation of our protocol in Rust and benchmark it, showing the practicality of the protocol. As additional contribution, we propose an actively secure generalization of Attrapadung et al. (ASIA CCS ’22) comparison protocol and a new rounding protocol for fractions with private numerator.

How can you be sure that cryptography is secure? If you have your dream team of cryptographers, you're fine. But few do.

Enter cryptography certification, a way for people to agree on what is secure. Come learn about it at this year's Future Cryptography conference this May.

At Cybernetica, we believe that people won't write code for MPC or ZK too often. Thus, we should write in a language that is rather *secure* than "fun". This is the idea behind SecreC for MPC and ZK-SecreC for ZKPs.
