@chuckwendig Everything I’ve read by HG Parry so far has been superb. Her Shadow Histories duology—“A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians” and “A Radical Act of Free Magic”—is a triumph, rich fantasy and clever historical fiction. But her latest YA, “The Magician’s Daughter” is also fantastic.
Also brilliant, and with an imminent sequel, is Juno Dawson’s, “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven.” Utter quality.
The book I’m really looking forward to next, though, is Justin Cronin’s, “The Ferryman.”
