Congrats to Greenways on getting this done! Everything is too difficult. We all deserve better.

How WSDOT Has Blocked Completion of the Rainier Valley Greenway for Years - The Urbanist

The Rainier Valley Neighborhood Greenway is the longest continuous greenway in Seattle, running over five miles from Rainier Beach to Mount Baker. Completed in 2018, the greenway takes a large of number of twists and turns to provide a signed, relatively calm walking and rolling route between and within Rainier Valley neighborhoods. But its utility

Fall 2023 Subscriber Drive Kickoff: 10 Years of The Urbanist - The Urbanist

Give today to celebrate a decade of The Urbanist. The Urbanist will turn 10 years old in 2024. When we were founded in 2014 by a small group of volunteers frustrated with the lack of serious attention our region’s leaders were giving to our linked housing, transportation, and climate crises, Seattle was only a year

Two homeless disabled autistic trans people w/ chronic pain & cPTSD w/ two cats need help staying inside & surviving (food, meds, gas, etc)

Thanks to a local disability organization here we'll be to able to secure housing soon & have our first month's rent covered. We're looking at the house tomorrow. Until we're able to move in (no date yet), we need help staying inside at the motel, as well as affording food & other necessities. We need at least $70 for another night & are out of our med weed.

Besides direct donations, you can also help by checking out Luke's ko-fi where they sell crochet items & digital art commissions, as well as a redbubble with stickers. I also have music available to purchase on my bandcamp. Links to both are in my linktree.

Please boost & donate if you can!
Thank you!

Help a disabled trans family with survival and shelter

Our names are Betty and Luke: we are long time survivors of unsafe and insecure housing. We are trans folks disabled with chronic pain, ASD, and have complex ptsd. We also have our two cats, Lenny and Max. We are trying to raise enough for a home.

It’s so stupid. I love it.
Did a quick morning ride before the rain marks the end of summer...

@SamUpstate This is actually not my go-to phamacy, but it's right by the local MUP, which may be why it has bike racks. My usual one, Safeway Pharmacy, hasn't gotten the updated booseter yet.

Sadly, a lot of places in the suburbs don't have bike racks here, either.
@ascentale @glightly A4: I've sat in one before. I've never gotten round to riding it. That's the only experience I have with recumbents. And a bit off, but I feel like I see fewer rebumbents these days than, say, 5-6 years ago. May be just me. #BIkeNite
@ascentale @Cutterpillow A2: As a PNW resident myself, I've just bit it and ridden wet. I wear prescription glasses, so I just keep them on while riding in the rain. After reading Cutterpillow's reply, I'm wondering whether to invest into a pair of clear cycling glasses. #BikeNite
@Cutterpillow @ascentale You have helpful tips! The MW5 seem to be solid winter shoes. I wonder if they fit wide feet. I wear SH-EX300.
@ascentale A1: Posting from Seattle, WA. This last week has been great! The weather has been perfect for cycling. I've been riding with a new, ergonomic handldebar, and it's working great. #BikeNite
