As a completely random thought, apropos of nothing in particular, and in no way connected to Kier Starmer's statement of this morning, I think that the British people totally fail to give Harold Wilson the credit he deserves for not getting the UK involved in the Vietnam War.

(And if you're thinking this seems like a non-decision on something that could never have happened, remember that Australia *did* join the US in the Vietnam War. We absolutely could have got involved.)
