Tomorrow in The Big Picture, Jay Kuo will take a deeper dive into what really happened in last week’s election and explore how poised Democrats may be for a comeback in 2026. And don't miss yesterday's piece looking at the bright spots from last Tuesday including a lot of strong down-ballot and progressive policy victories. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/week-big-picture-november-13
This Week In The Big Picture

As we continue to work through the results of last week’s election, and as the dust settles and the remaining votes are counted, the doom and gloom hand-wringing about the Democratic Party’s future continues ad nauseam.

Hi Fedi,

Just got laid off a month after buying our first house because the company is "right-sizing" its staff.

We have moved to a small town in NC hoping for better life, thinking our jobs will last us years. Small town living is great, but not many jobs around.

If anyone knows of any remote US opportunities for a graphic designer with some coding & web design experience that spent last couple years with data analysis/entry in a remote office do let me know.

Boosts appreciated ❤️ Thanks!

Ah, ok
Brilliant review of Jonathan Haidt's book and moral entrepreneurship by @mmasnick, who brings, as ever, reason & receipts. "Neither the data nor reality support his position, and neither should you. Kids and mental health is a very complex issue, and Haidt’s solution appears to be, in the words of H.L. Mencken: clear, simple, and wrong."

The Coddling of the American Parent

Jonathan Haidt’s new book “The Anxious Generation” blames youth mental health issues on social media in a way that’s easy, wrong, and dangerous.
