Israel released the 90 Palestinian captives very late last night in an effort to prevent celebrations and make them largely invisible.
Hundreds of Palestinians greeted them at the release point in Beitounia, near Ramallah.
Among them was Khalida Jarrar who was almost unrecognisable after the suffering she had endured in Israeli detention
This is a video of her.
Journalist Rula Hassaneen was taken by Israeli forces and separated from her 9-month-old baby girl in March last year. She was accused of "incitement" for commenting on the war in Gaza.
The Israeli military court refused to let her our on bail to take care of her baby who was unwell.
This is the moment Rula sees her daughter for the first time in 10 months. It seems the baby girl doesn't recognise her and asks to go back to her dad. 💔
Israel allowed 3 aid trucks to north #Gaza then did this:
"The WFP convoy included 2 trucks carrying life-saving ready-to-eat rations and wheat flour, and one truck carrying bottled water. The aid was delivered to the Mahdia al-Shawwa School, which was sheltering displaced Palestinians, and a nearby public shelter... But shortly afterwards, Israeli forces surrounded the area, shelled it and forced people to flee.
[Israeli forces] set fire to Mahdia al-Shawwa School."
I'd just like to remind Americans that France is currently on its Fifth Republic since 1789 (with three Empires—with monarchs—interleaved until 1870).
The USA appears to be in the dying days of its Second Republic (time out in 1860-65) but something better will emerge eventually, if we avoid planetary ecosystem collapse in the meantime.
This, too, shall pass.
Biden can still, and should, stop all arms to Netanyahu. Do it now. There never was a valid excuse to keep arming him -- not practical and not legal. His own State Dept confirms Netanyahu is violating the law. And now with the election over, there's not even a political excuse to keep arming him.
Stop funding genocide. Uphold Constitutional & Int'l Law.
