Is there really any reason to use ALAC besides Apple software compatibility these days? FLAC -5 seems superior in every way compared to ALAC at this point.

-FLAC -5 encodes and decodes 2-4 times faster than ALAC levels while compressing 0.7-3.0% better.
-FLAC is distributed under a BSD 3 clause-like license
-FLAC also has excellent compatibility
-Unlike ALAC (of which the main library has unfixed security vulnerabilities) FLAC is actively maintained
