ACM CHIIR (ACM Conference on Human Information Interaction and Retrieval) is looking for new steering committee members, and we strongly encourage self-nominations. Applications are here: https://forms.gle/S1khtF7J9sSGNYLG7, and close at Midnight March 1, AoE.
CHIIR Steering Committee Nomination

The ACM SIGIR Conference on Human Information Interaction and Retrieval (CHIIR), pronounced "cheer", provides a forum for the dissemination and discussion of research on the user-centered aspects of information interaction and information retrieval. CHIIR focuses on elements such as human involvement in search activities, and information seeking and use in context. We are seeking nominations for CHIIR steering committee members. The positions are typically for three years and will start after this year’s CHIIR in mid-March 2024. The current and past members are listed here: https://chiir.org/committee.php Qualified nominees are scholars with connections to the CHIIR community, conference organization and leadership experience, and a commendable record of publishing in areas related to interactive information retrieval. The steering committee is committed to maintaining diverse leadership in this community, so we are especially seeking candidates who would help us maintain diversity along multiple dimensions, including career stage, geography, and workplace (e.g. industry). Self nominations are welcome and encouraged. SC meetings are held online three times per year, with an in person meeting at the conference. If you have any questions about being on the CHIIR steering committee, please feel free to email Dana McKay (current chair, [email protected]), or any member of the Steering Committee. This form may be used for self nominations or to nominate someone else. Nominations will close on 1 March, 2024 AoE. Candidates will be notified at or before CHIIR 2024.
