I also have this super vivid memory of him from the 90s, sitting in the backstage tent all by himself quietly eating his salad and drinking water whilst a massive rave is going on all around (Nature One, with 10k people on an disused US air field in West Germany)... Then minutes later his gig starts and he's becoming this absolute wild beast on stage, shouting into the mic & dragging keyboards (taped to their stand) around like a madman (see ~3:48)...

This video is by one of the local DJs I was friends with at the time (and I played a gig on that same stage a few hours after...)
