Last hospital visit. 3 more doctor appointments to go and I’m off to my life. Still a long journey of recovery ahead, onwards.
One of the surgeons explained my the surgery while we watched its video. It’s an insane amount of work. I have to give kudos to the bastards. I love to hate them ;-) Secondly, a fucking amount of tech goes into it, insane. Yet, it’s orthopaedics: drills, bits, pins, anchors and the fucking traction table (below) that damaged my nerves. Wiggle your big toe. My Kill Bill moment. After 6 days of hyperthermia and full neurapraxia on my feet, I can finally move my toes. Still no sensation but burning. HCI helped me with alternative inputs thinking: I realized I could walk without looking at my feet by focusing on the feeling of the muscle contractions closer to the knee. Lots of mental effort but it’s working like a charm.
