I'm a self-aware composite life form comprised of trillions of interdependent microorganisms, a contemporary link in a 4 billion year self-replicating carbon-based chemical process.

@chiefgyk3d yeah, IMO "stop bringing politics into this" is itself a political stance, because we increasingly live in a world where basic human decency is outside the overton window, which makes it harder to be silent or neutral without shrugging off atrocity. The problem isn't that I'm being political, the problem is that these things have stopped being obvious points of common agreement.
@frutiger @bonsai861 @GrapheneOS I don't have the time to personally vet every line of code I run. To an extent, my security depends on being able to trust the people and organizations building my systems. Security also isn't the only thing I value, I also value sustainability. I am also saying something because what I'm observing in my feed is a pattern rather than an isolated incident.
@GrapheneOS seeing frequent hostility and drama come out of this account makes me want to switch off of GOS, despite really liking it. It makes me feel uncertain about the sustainability of the project and the character of people behind it. Hopefully the constant drama I am seeing doesn't represent the overall culture of the project. If not, please get someone else to manage the socials!
@elyn @ArchiteuthisFlux I got a jumperless too recently and I've been having so much fun with it
@GigaByte4711 I used it for a little while on my XPS 13 before moving to a Novacustom and a ThinkPad I flashed coreboot to. I love Qubes!
I have recently acquired a Jumperless V5 breadboard and XAIO ESP32S3 with camera sensor, which I'll be using to play around with vision AI. #jumperless
@kimcrawley Fuck open source too, apparently!

Just in case you're looking for novel ways to suffer:

@jorge I use bazzite and it "just works" more than basically anything else I've tried. The immutability brings decent stability. I keep seeing people complain that the standard package installers like apt and dnf don't work. Immutable distros use a different command that is easily googleable, or you can use flatpak. The sense I'm getting is people just having resistance towards learning anything new, regardless of whether it works better.
