<p>Tools using artificial intelligence (AI) have increasingly been applied in scientific publishing. AI tools can benefit authors by improving the language of scientific material including peer-reviewed publications. Despite assisting with the production of scientific material, the meteoric rise in AI tools have prompted concerns on whether their use is appropriate and ethical.
