I got burned buying a trilogy with a good rating on goodreads. I only read the first 1.5 books and didn't bother after that.
It sucked and when I looked again later it had a more relevant rating. I think the initial score was gamed by bots.
So now I download from Anna's archive and if it's as good as I expected based on ratings then I pay for it, which I've done most recently for Children of Time.
Thankfully I live somewhere where I can download legally.

Cool that you have a dual power supply model. It says rack mountable or free standing. Does that mean two form factors? $65K is more than we can afford right now but we are definitely eventually in the market for something we can run in our own colo.
It's funny though... we're using deepseek now for features in our service and based on our customer-type we thought that they would be completely against sending their data to a third-party. We thought we'd have to do everything locally. But they seem ok with deepseek which is practically free. And the few customers that still worry about privacy may not justify such a high price point.

When I was an undergrad (or maybe it was grad - it was a long time ago) we learned about the Minnesota twins study that attempted to find the strength of genetics in personality. The study developed new statistical techniques to measure this and can to the conclusion that genetics is very strong.
But now you hear nothing about this study. I'm not sure if it's because the results are tainted by eugenics, or if the techniques they developed were wrong...
