au INFOBAR xv (2018)

A new Infobar phone, a series of phones that are famous in Japan for their distinctive design and colours (designed by Naoto Fukasawa).

Unlike later models, this Infobar goes back to it's roots. It shares the same dimensions as the first two models and is only a feature phone with 4G, a beefier camera, and a more detailed screen.

Interestingly, this appears to run Android, but it does not have a touchscreen or run Google Play Services.

The HI-VISION editing and compositing systems at NHK Laboratories, as it is being used in 1990 to produce a music video and certain distorted sequences for the movie Until the End of the World (1990)

HI-VISION is the world's earliest HD television system, and the equipment used here was the only one of it's kind in the world at the time.

(The computer fans are incredibly loud in the main editing room)

Commercial MiniDisc duplication isn't available anymore, but a UK company has been producing new MD releases using the only new consumer MD stock available from Japan (which come in transparent plastic shells) and printing directly onto the cases, which gives a lot of artistic flexibility and looks way cooler than old commercial MD releases.

If you bought a Vaporwave or Retrowave MD, it was probably produced by these people.

Clockwork GameShell

An open source handheld with a surprising amount of effort on user friendliness and aesthetics.

The device comes in pieces that the user must assemble (even the shell pieces are on sprues), which is done without any screws at all. Each PCB comes with it's own plastic enclosure to make handling easier.

It has a particular distro of Linux with a cute interface. It comes with some free games as well as RetroArch.

Acer Predator G7 (various models)

A series of gaming PCs made and marketed by Acer in the early 10's.

One of the few gamer aesthetic things that I actually kinda dig, and the weirdness and impracticality add to the charm IMO.

Sony DualSense controller, for the upcoming PlayStation 5.

It has a new two-tone shell design, much more subtle light bar, linear actuator rumble (basically the same as Apple Haptic Engine/Switch 3D rumble), adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone array for headset-less audio chat.

I really like how radical and different it looks!

A leaked photo of what is allegedly the Xiaomi Mi 10 Explorer Edition.

I like the dark interior and the bold printed logo on the side ^^

Meizu 17 photographed in the wild with battery indicator around the punch hole camera

The selfie camera is in the top right of the screen, unlike most phones (that place it their punch holes in the top left or the center of the screen).

Clear prototype Atari VCS 2020 with 32GB of RAM. It appears to be running Windows.

Atari VCS Team Heads to CES as Production Enters Next Phase

From holiday break, straight to CES 2020!

Power Mac G4, Mirrored Drive Door (2002 - 2003). This was the last case revision in the Power Mac G4 series. The 2002 models were the last Power Macs that could run Classic Mac OS.

Like all cases in the series, the components opened up like a book, making maintenance really easy.

That silver and glossy case with the fold-out blue logic board is such an aesthetic. I own one of these and I love it so much - Dzuk
