@hacks4pancakes maybe do something like charge 100$ to book that you refund if they show up. For those that don’t show up, keep the $$ and offer a scholarship to someone already in infosec? At least there is some kinda payoff in this situation.

@mattblaze observation… I’m endlessly fascinated about how/why people “read into” tones in email, text, posts, etc. I genuinely feel that it’s a direct representation of how they feel about *themselves* which plays a huge role in what they read into subtext/tone. It’s their lens of experience and that colors how they feel when they read anything, really. of course you can’t/shouldn’t police yourself to appease all the different lenses that people see through. Exhausting indeed.
