Seen this around without alt text, so I yoinked it to post it myself.
Edit: Based on the earliest mention known and reminded to me (thank you!):

KI-Crawler scrapen alles, was nicht bei drei hinter der Firewall ist. Immer und immer wieder. Dabei ignorieren sie etabliert geglaubte Opt-Out-Standards und nutzen besonders perfide Methoden. Wie gehen Betreiber*innen von Infrastruktur damit um?
Das besprechen @monoxyd und Constanze mit den @ubernauten Jonas und @leah, die auch von der Herausforderung durch Crawler bei chaos.social berichtet.

#forkiverse Welcome y'all! Couple stuff in case you are still sorting things out:
Use hashtags. This network does not have an algorithm, so they are the main way to find content. You can subscribe to them in the client of your choice. Some people of other instances are already giving some advice.
Some random hashtags to start (I used a space so I do not disturb all of the hashtags)
# catsofmastodon - self explanatory
# dogsofmastodon - ditto
# bookstodon and # books - for bookish stuff
# monsterdon - We gather every Sunday night to watch a crappy sci-fi/horror movie. John us!
# getfedihired If you want to signal that you are looking for job.
# mutualaid if you are in a rough patch and need assistance or want to help others in a rough patch (I'd suggest you inform yourself about mutual aid before using it if you are not familiarized with the term).
Speaking about clients and apps: There are many nice and cool apps for Mastodon both in iOS and Android that add functionality (a "for you" page if you need that kind of stuff, etc)
There is an established culture in the fediverse. Please do not feel overwhelmed. We do not expect you will get everything right in day one. Just be open and kind and people will be as well. This is a diverse place. We still have work to do, but there are minorities that see this place as a safe haven for them and their loved ones. If you are a LGTBQ+ person, you may feel comfy here. Speaking about that, this network is extremely involved in the fight against transphobia.
For Mods: Get a good mod list as soon as possible. Will not bore you with the details here, but do some research about it.
Also for Mods: follow the # fediblock hashtag, it is kind of a crowd sourced alert system against instances and users with illegal/racist/bigoted content.
That One Mastodon Joke:
John Mastodon is the creator of Mastodon and the ruler of the Fediverse.
Hope this helped. Happy browsing!

Hab grad mal kurz drüber gelesen und es stellt sich mir nur eine Frage:
WARUM BRENNT DER LADEN NICHT SCHON LANGE????????
URGENT:
#Trans people in Germany need your help. There's recently been a proposal submitted by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) to create a list of people who changed their name/gender under the self-identification law. While the initial proposal has been rejected, it may be reintroduced in the future. This is obviously a terrible idea, especially considering the increasing popularity of the far-right party.
If we manage to reach 30.000 signatures within the next eleven days, the petition-starter will be invited to discuss the topic with the so-called Petitionsausschuss. So unlike petitions on platforms like Change.org, this one cannot be ignored as easily.
I recently learned that living in Germany is not required to sign, so I kindly ask you to help us. To make the process easier for you, I took screenshots of the website and translated everything.

(Edit: Clarified the situation and process that follows if the petition meets the quorom.)
