Writing up my dissertation in a year has been the hardest academic thing I’ve ever done, and felt really lonely versus my usual experiences with collaborative research, so it really means a lot to get this kind of attention after feeling isolated with my thoughts for so long about all this
Going through detailed comments and edits from my committee on my first drafts of my dissertation papers and feeling so touched by how much they care about making my work better 😭
Glad there are virtual options and co-authoring with pals though! Hoping to be able to visit Brazil in 2025 though :)
Hmm I may have to take a break from in-person conferences until next year, the end of the PhD and in-between until being employed later in the years introduces so much weirdness with travel funding
