At this point in my career, I’ve spent more time in public service than as a founder of an early stage startup (what I did in my past life). Most folks here in the US mostly know me for my work in government; folks back in Asia know me more for my startup work.

For the last 4 years I have been San Francisco’s director of product management, including through early pandemic wild times. I have a lot to share about this work but am unsure where to start. So ask me anything!

Okay, who has solid references outlining how new-school abuse-distributors (eg Libs of Tiktok) do their targeting and swarming across networks and offline? I’m looking for (original flavor) journalistic tick-tocks on how a single campaign moves across the internet and also accessible academic analysis. Specifically I’d like to see timing/timelines and scale included in the analysis.

Someone has to have done this well!

Boosts appreciated 🙏

I wiped my Facebook account before so the algorithm is probably stating from scratch and *very* confused

- Sixth Wave #CivicTech: Having figured out solutions posed by the first five waves, I now work for a contractor or agency that is doing the right things. <---We are here.

I propose the seventh wave of #CivicTech: Having figured this all out, I have become an elected official with the trust of my constituents and power to push government to do and build the right things.

You think downtown Chicago is hard to drive in the rain -- wait till it snows.

Also, just take public transport. Downtown is such a pileup all the time.

Editor’s note: This week we posted a story highlighting a trans activist in Ukraine; after all, Russia cited LGBTQ+ rights as a reason for the war.

We didn’t anticipate the negative reaction: more than 1,000 readers unsubscribed, and we lost paid subscribers as well.

Ok, maybe a little unfair but sci-fi has been talking about synthmeat for a long time
