But this is essentially an 80/20 flip on literacy rates over a little more than a century. Never forget that this is something we as a species did, something we can actually do. It's amazing. And it's more amazing when you consider that over that time the population didn't remain steady, by multiplied by around eight. Eight times as many people to teach to read, billions, and we mostly it.
