A lot of things in film seem really complicated. Lists help a lot. Especially in prep when I have the time to go over a list and check things off.

Even on set, I try to keep a short checklist. I feel like that checklist changes a little on each project and as I get more experience. But it’s really important to remember that no rules are broken if I check my notes.

Lookbooks can be fun to make. And they're really helpful. Not just for getting the crew on the same page with a given look, but also so I have something to measure my own work against. How close did I actually come to getting the look we intended?

I've been woefully neglecting lookbooks for a while, and I think it's preventing me from holding myself creatively accountable.
