✨🌌 Happy Tanabata! 七倕! 🌌✨

δ»€ε’Œ7εΉ΄7月7ζ—₯
Today, we celebrate Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, a beautiful tradition in Japan that honors the legendary meeting of two loversβ€”Orihime (the weaver star Vega) and Hikoboshi (the cowherd star Altair)β€”who are allowed to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month. 🌠

According to the tale, the Milky Way separates the two, and they can only reunite when the skies are clear on this special night. πŸ’«

People celebrate by writing their wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo branches, hoping for dreams to come true. πŸŽ‹πŸ’

Whether you’re making a wish or simply enjoying the stars tonight, may your hopes shine brightly. 🌟

I was visiting a friend who's nursing fractured ribs, so I decided to bring flowers. I found a florist near where I was, so I walked in. When is the last time you walked into a local, small florist? I should have taken a photo of the loveliness I got, but what I couldn't have taken a photo of is that smell as you step into the flower shop. The greens, roses, lilies, chrysanthemums... And the custom bouquet was cheaper than those sad pre-wrapped ones from grocery stores. Support local businesses.

It's sunflower season starting here in Ireland at least 🌻🌻🌻. David Zinn shows how they can be cultivated on pavements using chalk, water and a large dose of whimsy ...

"Each #entrance leads somewhere different," the guide said. What I saw were hundreds of different styles of gates: huge ones hewn from entire mountains, delicate ones made of twigs and cobwebs, waterfalls that parted to admit you--on and on.

"I see some #bear inscriptions," I remarked. "This one says 'Abandon all hope ye who enter here.' What sort of person chooses that entrance?"

The guide shrugged. "Not everyone's into warning labels, I guess?" he suggested.
