@nomeata danke für ttttool, mein Kind wächst zweisprachig auf und so kann ich ihr auch Niederländische Bücher und Spiele anbieten :)
I've been playing around a bit with a simple Mac app for building static sites. Still needs a lot of work from my side, and probably a bunch of HTML/CSS design. I don't know whether I'll time to finish this, but it is a fun project!

Dropbox@krzyzanowskim @ctietze did either of you implement custom autocomplete with NSTextView? I'm trying to not let my NSTextView lose focus, and just display an overlay for the autocompletion. To navigate between items, I intercept moveUp (and others) inside the doCommandBy delegate method. Would you know if this is a feasible approach or am I going to hit a wall soon?
I'd like to have our own managed mastodon instance for objc.io. Is this possible using the main domain name (without giving up the static site we already have there)? Any providers people are happy with? I mainly want to make sure we don't have to do the server management / security ourselves.
@chriseidhof +1 we've greatly enjoyed making some of the kits. The bubble machine in particular was fun and we still use it over a year later.
In general, I love building and fixing physical things with my kids. Makes them realize they can influence the world around them.
Ok, maybe it's not so good as a last-minute gift because they take some time to ship, but it *is* a great gift 😅.
If you need a last-minute gift for young kids (and their parents?) you should consider a subscription to KiwiCo. We've built four of their crates by now and my daughter absolutely loves it. It's a great mix of engineering and crafts and you end up with a fun toy. So much fun. (No, this is not sponsored at all, we happily pay for this).
We've been writing a first draft of our book update in Dropbox's Paper. It's really good and fun to write in, and much nicer than git for realtime collaboration. We will move to something "serious" once we add more graphics and once we need better layout, but for now, this is great.
I guess this was it, for Twitter? I'm sorry to see it go. From my limited viewpoint it seems like a big exodus is happening. More than half of my timeline is posting about leaving.
If I want to learn a bit more about the current AI wave, what would be some good books to read? (Don't worry, not planning to pivot, just want to understand it a bit more — stuff like GPT-3 feels magical to me).
