I’m never here anymore, and I always wonder if I am missing out on something. Lately I have been thinking more about writing differently, and that has meant staying away.
a poem I wrote today: Let me know what you think!
An essay on creating and joy. https://chris-writes.ghost.io/creating-and-joy-an-essay/ Let me know what you think!

a darkness is come to me
some long night of the soul.
have I become a moth
longing for its cocoon?
is there, for a moment
some place I must hide in
to replenish and heal?
what if this darkest place

the snake that’s got me
i fight to breathe a little
but I know
as soon as I exhale
as soon as I sleep
it will tighten again
tighter than before
around my chest
its cold skin so hard
and I would fight
yes I would fight
if I could catch my breath
if I could catch a break
instead my vision blurs
and I fear
the snake is winning
and all that waits for me
is a desperate death
upon my dying breath

O Capitalism, thou snake—
the boa around my neck
