Elon Musk stoppen: Schützen wir unsere Demokratie!

X abschalten.

Today, Nov 8 (among many other things) marks the 15 year anniversary of the very first JSConf EU here in Berlin.

I might write up a proper retrospective some day, but today, I’m sharing a few impressions that I shot on my then brand new iPhone 0. Do excuse the picture quality.

Starting at the end, this is traditional family photo that we shot at the end of all conferences. 120 people in a raw industrial space in Berlin Kreuzberg. With Chris & Laura Williams, initiators of JSConf US on video.

I assume to see similar issues arise with the drop of allowSignalsWrite as they occurred with react’s useEffect. Hopefully the
@angular
team can educate enough to not use effects and maybe the upcoming new primitives help too

Played around with the idea of Angular.js $resource and Tanstack Query for Angular.

What do you think about this sketch?

#Angular supports directives, which are key to composability.

For quite a while, there have been host-directives, which enable this even more.

Alexander Inkin wrote a nice article about this over here: https://www.angularspace.com/host-directives-decomposition-unleashed/

Host directives: decomposition unleashed!

Explore an underappreciated decomposition killer feature, introduced with Angular 15 to see how it can help you breakdown complex code.

I think the access to knowledge was a key factor in my life. And back in the days it wasn’t as easy as today. So I am thankful that my parents let me read all the books in their shelves and introduced me to the public library as well (I know that there is a lot privilege included in having access to both).

I'm working on an experiment to create a fediverse outpost for my small town, as a possible approach to supplementing or (ideally) replacing the Facebook group that currently is the source of news in the community.

Advice on next steps? Looking at various things now e.g.

-- Find a hosting service specialilzing in Mastodon?

-- Install myself at the hosting company I use for my blog?

-- Any good guides for a project like this?

Quick regex tip: If you want to match a string with groups but don't need all the groups in the result, non-capturing groups `(?:)` help to clean up your regex results. 💪👇
