Final Feb 26, 2023 Chickadee Roosting Box update (Nesting Box updates now begin!):
So another roosting season ends with all the gluttonous (but VERY cute) freeloaders ignoring the boxes.
However, the boxes have been improved and are ready for the (pitter-patter?) of chicks! 🤞

Before flying off, a chickadee actually peaked into one of the boxes last week!
I therefore dutifully emptied both and put in fresh cedar shavings. Fingers crossed!

On Twitter some held that producing original content was the point, painting the less prolific and/or disinclined as silent wallflower voyeurs.
As a low-volume content producer (chronicling my ongoing and as yet unsuccessful attempts to build roosting boxes for an ungrateful local chickadee population…), I’m hoping Mastodon will feel less competitive!
