hello this is the temperature sensor I have in the shady cool part of the back yard and it is March and I do not like it
Rummaging through some older photos. Came across this from 10 years ago.
#throwbackthursday (well, Thursday in the time zone this was taken in)
Any MechE rover heads out there know what went into the design of these mechanical interfaces to SHERLOC on Perserverance? It's like a gas strut with two degrees of compliance at both ends. Is this just a combination of thermal expansion, shock, assembly compliance? Why solid thin-fin interfaces that look EDM or laser cut over a joint?
#throwbackthursday to this high aspect ratio mushroom growing between the backyard bricks.
When I saw these negatives, my first thought was "oh what fresh...I mean old... hell is this??" 16mm but the registration isn't one of the obvious ones. The film seems to have been developed after being exposed to heat / humidity; they were mostly unusable.
My father didn't really have a knack for photography, but this was a fun one to extract off of some heinous 16mm negatives. Petra in Jordan circa 1973. I'm pretty sure that's Al-Kazneh.
My father's sartorial choices circa 1972. Ich weiss nicht genau wo dieses Bild aufgenommen wurde. "Ansichtskarten zum Glockenspiel" doesn't really narrow things down. This is the Agfa-Gevaert film with 24mm^2 images...maybe Agfa Rapid...so maybe a Silette camera or Karat. 🤷♂️
