Since everything else has been talked about here I would just like to reiterate the standard left internationalist point that "embracing patriotism" is reactionary and people should be encourage to identify first and foremost as citizens of the world
Two billionaires are destroying wildly popular programs to help the poor so that they can give tax cuts, contracts, and crypto deals to their billionaire cronies - all while failing to deliver on the #1 priority of most Americans, lowering the cost of living, as promised. But don't talk about the economy!
Again: it's an objective, verifiable fact that Kamala Harris focused more on "defending democracy" rhetoric than on economic issues. Just like Hillary Clinton did. Democrats have tried the messaging strategy of extremely online liberals like Bill Pencil and they lost to Trump both times.
NEW: A lot of liberal hawks only came to support the war because of their sympathy for Ukrainians. But can they listen to Ukrainians now that Ukrainians are ready to negotiate? Or are they too entrenched in the logic of war? https://www.carlbeijer.com/p/can-ukraines-us-allies-catch-up-with
Can Ukraine's US allies catch up with Ukrainians?

Or has their hawkish rhetoric left them with no way to pivot towards peace?

One of a dozen things that does not actually make sense if you assume that Trump is just following Kremlin orders but that makes perfect sense if you think Trump is doing his usual paleocon America First shit
Former Cato Institute senior fellow and Federalist Society contributor who's mad because he thinks Trump *isn't* destroying the federal government? Welcome to the resistance
This is a bloody lie. Yglesias is asking for weapons to send *to the Ukrainian government* so that it can conscript unwilling Ukrainians to fight, and in opposition to a majority that wants negotiations. Not surprised a guy who supported the Iraq War would play these word games.

Support for arming Ukraine among self-identified liberals:

70% support - liberals with advanced degrees
58% oppose - liberals without advanced degrees who make less than $50k a year

DATA: CCES 2022

ahahaha
I don't get how the White House can demand gratitude from Ukraine for all the aid, as if it is a favor, AND demand mineral rights in compensation for it, as if it's a transaction. They can't have it both ways!
