Yep.

Y'all pretend not to know that they're fascists. But you know for a fact that they are anti-anti-fascists.

Y'all pretend not to know that they are segregationists. But you know for a fact that they are de-desegregating.

You know exactly what this is.

Lie to yourself. Don't lie to me.

Justice Department ends school desegregation order in Louisiana

The Justice Department is lifting a school desegregation order in Louisiana dating to the Civil Rights Movement, calling its continued existence a “historical wrong” and suggesting that others across the South should be eliminated. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said the Trump administration was “getting America refocused on our bright future” when it ended a 1966 legal agreement with Plaquemines Parish schools. Decades after the Supreme Court struck down racial segregation in America’s schools, more than 100 districts remain under court settlements governing how they must work toward integration. Known as consent decrees, the agreements can be lifted when districts demonstrate they have eliminated segregation and its vestiges.

Trump orders federal funding cuts to PBS and NPR

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order aiming to slash public subsidies to PBS and NPR as he alleged “bias” in the broadcasters’ reporting. The order instructs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and other federal agencies “to cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS” and further requires that that they work to root out indirect sources of public financing for the news organizations. The White House, in a social media posting announcing the signing, said the outlets “receive millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as ‘news.’” The broadcasters get roughly half a billion dollars in public money, and have been preparing for the possibility of stiff cuts since Trump’s election.

^ This -- Developers have put in a lot of time and effort to make Linux easy for newbies, so that people do not need to use the terminal for everything. There are whole Linux distros designed around ease of use with GUI tools for every common use case, including some edge cases too.

But those "old school" users will tell you to use the terminal for everything, even when you can just press a button for the same result. That is similar to telling a Windows user to use PowerShell for everything, which you can, but would you want to?! Answer: Of course, not, most people would not. And in 2025, the terminal on Linux is there, but similar to PowerShell on Windows, you don't need to use it most of the time.

TIL that European news media agencies basically ignored the US Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s (up until the Watts riots of 1965) mainly because the centers of organizing were churches, not political parties.

Single people tend to be unhappier than married individuals. In Japan, however, single women are happier, while single men are unhappier than those in any other country. Why? One writer blames the unequal burdens placed on married women in Japan.

Why Japan's Single Men Are The Unhappiest In The World - Unseen Japan

Why are single men in Japan unhappier than in other nations? One writer argues that the unfair expectations placed on women are to blame.

You don't need a plan, or a sign, or even need to know what you're doing to help at protests. You just need to show up and be one more person showing solidarity.

It couldn't be easier. You help just by being there.

Pastor told books loaned to African American museum may be returned

A prominent pastor and veteran of the Civil Rights Movement says he was told items he had loaned to the Smithsonian Institution would be under review for whether they should remain on display at the institution. Rev. Amos C. Brown had loaned two books to the Smithsonian's African American museum. The news comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for the Smithsonian to eliminate “improper ideology” in some exhibits that the administration views as divisive. Civil rights activists have organized a May 3 protest at the National Museum of African American History and Culture against potential changes to the exhibits.
