Remembering Dad with love tonight. He was an OB-GYN and a talented pianist. At this time of year, he would don the Santa suit and visit the children's ward of his hospital, playing Christmas tunes on the piano for kids who could get to the common room and visiting the others at their bedsides. He never told his own kids of this charitable act; I learned of it after he passed. He was a fine man and I am lucky to have had such a great Pops.

For years I have been wanting to downsize; this house where we raised our four kids is a lot to keep up! But today, with partner coughing and sneezing those 'rona germs, I am grateful to have plenty of space to give that phlegmy guy wide berth.
I still wish Masto and other services had the concept of a 'Mea Culpa' button that someone (can't remember who) came up with, so if you said something that you later realise is factually wrong, or you do something stupid, you can just hit the button and permanently flag the post so others know, which is a much more socially elegant way of handling a mistake than deleting a post.
Bugger. Partner has now tested positive for Covid. He was quite surprised, as he is feeling better today. I'm testing negative and feeling fine so far. But this means we won't be gathering for granddaughter's first birthday or Christmas. And it's a good thing we don't celebrate our anniversary, as 35 is just around the corner. Bugger. Bugger. Bugger.
