Who's streets?
Mass DCR won't open Riverbend park so we did. Join us next Saturday to do it again.
Some recent history on this issue here: https://www.cambridgeday.com/2023/06/15/silent-to-many-during-debate-on-riverbend-park-state-rep-decker-writes-to-put-onus-on-state-dcr/
While most state representatives, city councillors and other politicians staked out a position long ago on the future of Saturday closings of Memorial Drive to create Riverbend Park, state Rep. Marjorie Decker only broke a noted absence from the public debate recently.
We are planning a short, symbolic ride along Memorial Drive this Saturday, July 8, to imagine what it will be like when it is closed to cars again on Saturdays. Meet at JFK park at 10:45 am. We're going to ride together and take a lane. Then gather at a park and share snacks.
