I like some things. I dislike other things. There's also things I am indifferent about.
Languages🇩🇪, 🇬🇧

Don't think I have shared this yet.
During my stay at the hospital they installed these LED-wings in front of the transgender care ward. So obviously I had to get a photo the day I was released (and "spread my wings" so to say! Eh?).

I was really lucky, because after I left they added the logo of the clinic and a hashtag on the wall as well... So yay, I avoided that!

Todays mood is: bleh.
But long to-do-list, so...

Content warning for eye contact.

So... Uhm... Does that imply that it's allowed to carry weapons around from 5 to 20?
Also... Is that supposed to be pepper spray? So I or anyone from a marginalized group wanting to have something to protect themselves with... Can't carry pepper spray at night? At least not if they wish to take public transport via Frankfurt Main station?
So... Uhm... What is going on with Duolingo?!
I had my best friend over yesterday and today. And one of her hobbies is photography. A while back she got this really neat camera and stuff for it and now sends me pictures of birds and flowers all the time and even joins some local photography competitions.
So of course she brought her camera with her and today we also made a small trip to a bird... Safety area? Like a place that is restricted in it's use so birds can live happily there. With A LOT of storks.
Anyway... She also made photos of me and Yuko.
And the following photo of me, I really like.
Not because I think it's particularly flattering or something like that.
But because it's the first picture of myself I have seen where I feel like I look my age.
The last couple of weeks there have been several situations where people obviously and significantly underestimated my age. From being surprised I have worked as a teacher for 8 years now, to asking whether I am still going to school as a student (?!?!).
And with the whole being-trans-thing and having a second puberty in my early thirties... Age does become a weird thing. And I do notice that many of the people in my life are 5-15 years younger than me... So having a picture that looks mid-thirties... That's nice.

Yuko is excited because we spent a while outside in the garden with her big best friend in the whole world (who is too old to play with her much, but just his presence is exciting for her).
Of course she isn't aware of the fact, that in half an hour she will be standing in the shower, as the ground is wet and her paws and belly are muddy from all the running and playing...

I can at least start by tooting nice things for a change!

With me not feeling well and spending most of today on "bed" (using the term loosely here), Yuko started out being irritated but quickly adapted and embraced the situation... Lying next to me and when not sleeping or aggressively cuddling with me, being very protective of me. She jumped up and barked as soon as she heard any sound that could remotely construed as danger.

First: Yuko, my loveable fluff ball of joy, is fine.

My parent's dog, Monty - a seven year old Labrador mix that was rescued from the streets - however has cancer.

We learned that Wednesday morning.
Next Thursday my parents have an appointment with a vet oncologist for further tests/outlook/treatment plan...

So, we'll know more then. But for now... It doesn't look good.

What's good about the situation is, that Monty doesn't have any pain or discomfort (yet?), and neither he nor Yuko are aware of anything being wrong with him... So they live in the moment and are happy.

The rest of the family is devastated and struggling...

I neither can nor want to imagine what Monty's death might do to my parents... And the day when Yuko starts wondering where her big, best friend in the whole world is...

I do hope this day is far away...

I noticed it's been a while since I posted a picture of Yuko...

So, I did a thing!
Painted my fingernails in the colours of the transgender and ace pride flags!
Since the ace flag only has four colours and I figured cutting off a finger is a little extreme, I might try painting a red heart on my thumb for romantic-ace.

Now I just need to learn to paint my nails better...
