People often talk about the war in Ukraine. But they rarely mention those conflicts taking place in Sudan, or Central African Republic, and previously Ethiopia. Perhaps the world has decided that it is the African's destiny to suffer, that they are beyond saving, and that we should not trouble ourselves to learn about them.

@rysiek We see such examples of cultural destruction all over the Americas. They melted down countless gold objects, built churches over pyramids, and destroyed all but four books of maya writing just to name a few.
@aliettedb Some are less safe than others yes, but I couldn't bring myself to say it's on the same level as some other countries. All I mean is that we need to see just how far we've come here, even with the issues that remain.
@aliettedb I think many in the US have lost sight of this.
@TatianaIlyina It's more difficult for people to acknowledge a problem as a problem when they can't see it right in front of their face. And most still can't.
@LukefromDC @igd_news A pretty large number of Border Patrol agents are first generation Americans, and not white at all. Make of that what you will.
