@rachel Try Aurora, I am quite obsessed honestly. It just works and had a lot of the nerdy developer tools I need out of the box.
It comes with KDE Plasma, but Bluefin is the Gnome version. I used to be a Gnome guy but I think I might be a Plasma guy now after the last few releases.

@tallship No I’m afraid I’ve had a rather intense few weeks so not had time to do anything but I do still plan to work on this project.
@codemonkeymike Believe me I’ve been there. What an absolute mess! I vaguely remember doing something like getting a disk utility up and setting up a new file system, but I can’t remember the specifics.
@codemonkeymike Have you tried the Catalina install a few times? I’ve had this happen but work on the second or third attempt.
