The communications team has said that everything that you can buy in the shop will be available for everyone to grind for in the game. The only exception to that is Heroic Kyros which they wanted to make special for those who buy the Exalted pack, which is the most expensive.

If you’re not comfortable getting one of the packs, free-to-play is scheduled to launch in 6 months.

I didn’t get to play the beta, so I can’t speak to how the character skills feel. Besides dashing to avoid all the aoes in that battle, Niss’ ultimate is a dash that does damage. Niss isn’t my play style, so I can’t say I’m excited about her. I’m more excited for other characters.

I don’t know if there’s any lore behind the bosses to help them feel less generic. I hope there is. The bosses and mechanics certainly don’t feel groundbreaking by any means. It still looks fun to me.
