In Skyrim, you could exit the tutorial mission and go any direction and you will find adventure. You’ll find POIs that add color to the world. You’ll find stories.

If you do the same in Starfield, you won’t find any of that. At worst, you’ll find one of the few randomly placed identical outposts that have no story with them. At best, you’ll find the terrormorph that broke out of the first outpost you go to and get completely wrecked at level 1.

A year ago, I could not imagine Starfield not being the next Skyrim. I assumed I’d still be playing and modding it today, but unfortunately, my opinion is that it lacks the underlying foundation needed to be made good by mods. Starfield was good for 1 playthrough, but that’s it. It lacks the charm Skyrim had. It feels empty. A whole galaxy filled with infinite variations of lizards and the same 3 pirates.

Holy moly. I just saw the download size for #Starfield and immediately ordered a new SSD for it so I won't have to uninstall anything to make room. I also assume I’m going to want to mod it in the future, either because I love it or because I want to fix it. (I haven't bought a new game in a long time, so based on Starfield and #BaldursGate I'm assuming big games these days are all in the 120GB to 150GB range)

A jaywalker almost got hit by a car in the area behind the person doing the AirPods Pro update segment. Car swerved into bike lane instead of stopping. #AppleEvent
I'm not necessarily complaining about this. I bought a Milanese Loop band when I bought original Apple Watch 10 years ago, and I just decided to start using it again on my Series 9. It still fits and matches the watch perfectly. #AppleEvent
At this point, I don't think Apple is capable of making the Apple Watch look different. Series 10 uses many new materials with significant engineering redesigns, yet still manages to visually look almost identical to the previous few generations. #AppleEvent
One of our guinea pigs, Spike, passed away last night. I don’t know how old he was. We rehomed him and another one from another family member 2 years ago on the day of my mother-in-law’s funeral. He’ll be buried in the backyard, next to my beloved cat, Jazz. Luncheon this afternoon.
I wrote this blog post about micro-frontends, a way to build websites that’s even more complicated than regular modern #WebDevelopment https://medium.com/slalom-build/micro-frontends-state-of-the-craft-f5f86a3ca1c2?source=friends_link&sk=7740d1531bb19cb2ed334c6ecef56c39
Micro-Frontends: State of the Craft - Slalom Build - Medium

Here’s a scenario: your organization likes to compartmentalize. There are departments for products, billing, sales, marketing, communications, etc. Years ago, you adopted a microservice architecture…

I love a lot of things about the new #deadpoolandwolverine trailer, but this is my favorite
I just saw one of those clickbait ads that said “Seniors born between 1944 and 1984 may benefit from this." I may not recover
