Took me a while to figure out that to block all remote content in Mail, you paradoxically have to turn off “Protect Mail Activity”. That option mysteriously disappeared in iOS 16 and it has been bothering me ever since.

Apple, loading tracking pixels from spam (as opposed to not loading it at all) even through a proxy is stupid. That’s not protecting anybody, that’s just signaling to spammers en mass that users’ inboxes are valid and active.
