Since iPadOS 16.2, when iPad is plugged into an external display it plays no audio through the iPad speakers, display speakers or Airplay. You can play audio through bluetooth speakers if you do things in the right order. But the M2 iPad Pro isnt looking anything like a laptop alternative right at the moment.
