Pacifist, free-thinker, blues & beer, fortunate & grateful, Gold-Star mom.
@cosmicallyf I wonder if trees are horrified when boards are nailed to them.
Finally. This caught my ear yesterday and again now visually. This is the first time I have been touched by VP Harris~ eloquent, dynamic, spot on, courageous, relevant. I feel like I am seeing her in her own power and potential for the first time (which may be my failure, not hers). Well worth the 19 minutes.
@DataDrivenMD Pro-choice arguments continue the refrain "women will die." The anti-choice people do.not.care. It is irrelevant. They.do.not.care about choice, health, lack of child care, over population, poverty, women having control over their own bodies, rape, economic harm & crime, rights. The argument must be reframed & well enough to over-ride their bottom line. It is critical to remember that their loudest voices come from those who do not care about civil rights.
@jimkingtoot He & his good friend H.Crow met after Thomas was SCJudge. Thomas didn't fail to declare Crow's gifts, he chose to not disclose these benefits. @charlotteclymer The word "rapist" may be part of the issue. Ecologist, botanist, humanist, scientist, aerialist, etc. all sound like an activity, philosophy, or profession to me. Murderer, adulterer, abuser, robber, torturer, womanizer, philanderer, killer, molester describe a character. I continue to wonder if the term "raper" would be more impactful, meaningful. Koresh was a raper.
@juddlegum Nah, he's comparing his inability to lead with that of some "coach." Equally as dumb, for sure.
@debasisg Flying Blind: The 737 MAX Tragedy and the Fall of Boeing by Peter Robison is well worth the read. The storied company was handed over to the stock market, Engineers lost out to greed & arrogance.
@black_intellect Thank you, today is another day of learning (& feelings in the gut). Check out this story: https://www.ttbook.org/interview/was-jim-thorpe-greatest-athlete-who-ever-lived
Was Jim Thorpe the greatest athlete who ever lived?

Drawn from conversations with hip-hop artist Tall Paul, journalist Patty Loew and biographer David Maraniss, we hear stories from the NFL, from baseball, and, of course, from what made Thorpe a legend —the 1912 Olympic Games.
