Was in radio & tv broadcasting tech. ops. After redundancy I got a BSc in Computer Science and had a mid-life career change to IT. Retired now. Walk a lot, read a lot, and waste a lot of time messing with computers.

@amin if something rocks, say it rocks from side to side, it is not rock solid ie solid as a rock 🤔

Mmmm… that’s Tuesday sorted, what you going to do the rest of the week ;-o
@amin My phrasing wasn’t quite accurate; #ff3 was already Docker, I changer to compose. #DokuWiki was originally added to an Apache web server, then to docker, then docker compose. Silver bullet was docker to Docker compose. I agree to a certain point your preference for bare metal, but I was finding the maintenance of so many dependencies too time consuming, that’s why I investigated the Docker way of doing things.
Just completed a test run of moving my servers (#Silverbullet, #Dokuwiki, #TiddlyWiki & #Firefly3 to #Docker. Took me a while to realise it but I now appreciate why everyone was recommending this method. Next week’s task is to implement it on the main server hardware, a #RaspberryPi.
@amin sleep, you don’t have time to sleep. You’re like a butterfly flitting from one project to another, how do you fit it all in and find time to sleep?
For the first time I plugged a second monitor into my #framework laptop and it was a disaster. The menu bar moved to the new monitor and the resolutions were all over the place. 10 minutes later had sorted it all out and working happily until I went to dinner. When I returned the laptop had gone to sleep, on waking it up — no video! Unplugged the second monitor and video came back to the built in display, but no menu panel or desktop shortcuts. Took me another hour using the terminal to restore normal service.

Anyone else experienced this?
@amin Your recent post promoted me to revisit your tty1 blog https://tty1.blog/articles/xdg-user-dirs/ where I found this post - just the information I had been looking for at the weekend and failed to find. Thanks, I find it a very useful resource.
Leveling Up Your Filetree with xdg-user-dirs

Have you ever noticed that there are certain directories everyone has? `~/Documents`, `~/Downloads`, `~/Desktop`, and so forth? Some of them you don't need, some of them you might wish were named differently, but any time you rename or delete them, the originals *reappear*? You see, these directories follow a standard so that all programs know where they are—with the right tools under your belt, you can customize them.

@amin Thanks, tried the Ice Cube suggestion. It did give me some new ones, for instance I get my post to you but not your response. ☹️ Hopefully they can fix it soon.
@amin
Still having problems viewing the Local feed, different problem depending on which app I use. #icecubeapp won’t give me anything newer than a month ago. #metatext sometimes works, sometimes I get a couple of random posts. Is it only me?
