Child abuse leaves a lasting imprint — on the brain, the body, relationships, and long-term health. But healing is real.

Our updated resource article, "The Effects of Child Abuse," explores what current research tells us about how abuse and neglect affect children's developing brains and bodies, the long-term psychological and physical consequences, warning signs that every adult should know, and what healing can look like with the right support. Scouts from Troop 314 (Huntingtown, MD) spent Saturday giving back at The Blue Ribbon Project. This organization supports foster children and families in need in so many meaningful ways—from providing “Backpacks of Love” filled with essentials (and a few fun surprises!) during transitions, to offering Mirah’s Closet, where families can shop brand-new items at no cost. They also host workshops and trainings that help families learn, grow, and thrive. We’re proud to be regular volunteers here and always leave inspired by the impact they make in our community. Already looking forward to our next visit!Thank you for having us 💙 #communityservice | BSA Girls Troop 314
