I write about my experiences as a #FirstNations person, in a hostile environment. #whistleblower, smashed the Australian Federal Police 16-0 in the Supreme Court ✡️🇦🇺 🇫🇷
Reminiscing on travels of not so long ago … Lion Gate in Hattusa

It was the anniversary of my brother’s suicide a few days ago. John committed suicide because he found the racism he was subjected to, by society, unbearable. I’ve had John ‘s son living with my family since his death.

Racism and discrimination against Aboriginal people is still alive and well in Australia. They impact on our lives from birth to death. This isn’t something that Australia should be proud of.

I attended my first symposium (a polite term for a drinking and eating fest) for 2023 last night, got home at about 1:30am, opened Twitter, and immediately had to block three trolls. It’s a pleasant change not having to deal with trolls in this space.

As for the Symposium, the “club” has a century long tradition. About fifteen years ago, women demanded to be allowed to join, there was a lot weeping and gnashing of teeth about the loss of tradition. The only thing admitting women changed was to improve the aesthetics, it was the same smut, innuendo, and double entendre, only now some of it was coming from painted lips and powdered faces. Tradition 🤷‍♂️

A quick intro. I’m an Aboriginal of Wiradjuri/French extraction. My paternal grandparents were basically full blood (for want of a better descriptor) I was born in an era where removing Aboriginal children for the purpose of assimilation was common place, I’m one of those children. Latter I became a street kid, I now own my own professional practice. In the past I was a semi-professional boxer, and did a stint in the ADF. My wife is non-Indigenous. When I write about Aboriginal issues I’m speaking from my own personal experiences, or those of my family including those I was institutionalised with as a kid. I also work with homeless people and street kids. My non-Indigenous family have vicariously experienced much of whit I write about. A parting thought: racism destroys people’s hopes and aspirations and eats their souls. We are all brothers and sisters in humanity - this is worth remembering. Bakchos
If Bakchos (Bacchus) isn’t real, why are there so many mosaics of Bakchos (me 😉) from the ancient Mediterranean world …

1/16 Racism in the ACT Govt and Ernst & Young Australia thrives. On 9 May 2002, ACT employee Angel Marina wrote “…that Aborigines are compulsive liars and criminals …”, sourcing information from human resources staff Louise Fitzgerald (ACT Govt) & Tanya Taylor (EY) and the AFP.

After reading the attached thread, if you still think that @[email protected] and @[email protected] aren’t racist, corrupt and incompetent, then you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror…

Why a political duopoly isn’t meaningful democracy.

Across Australia, governments, with support from the “opposition”, have quietly passed a wave of draconian laws focused on criminalising civil disobedience. The targets of such laws are, for the time being, climate activists.

#HAPPYBIRTHDAY Sir Isaac Newton, born January 4, 1643. Newton’s Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy, 1687) was one of the most important single works in the history of modern science.

Are genius and madness one in the same?

Which well known Australian political identity does this little fellow bring to mind?
