This is ridiculous. By what possible calculus will ads for things I'm *not* searching for, pushing down the things I *am* searching for, not make the experience worse? We all know how this is going to go, why do I have to pretend I don't until it's worse?

Absolute horseshit. Everybody with any power who bites back at Trump’s bullshit gets him to back down. Apple has more power than any company in the world, and poor Timmy Cook can’t push back? Absolute fucking horseshit. Don’t charitably spin this, it’s insulting.
@om Tim Cook doesn’t get let off the hook here. If everyday people, companies and governments with impossibly less power than he has can stand up to these fuckers, then so can he. The stock will be fucking fine.
He is evil. Clapping in a movie theater alongside an administration that’s killing people and would kill the country if not for people far braver than Cook makes him evil. He isn’t required to watch a fucking movie and make trophies and you fucking know it. Stop caping.
@daringfireball the caping for Tim Cook is fucking insane. Both he and Apple have vast supplies of fuck you money and power — far more so than the governments and everyday people standing up to this shitshow. What’s the point of fuck you money if not for moments like this?
Any other fucking company and you’d tear that essay apart.
