I activated my out of office for my research leave and I could not be more excited. 😭 Don’t expect an email response for the rest of the year, but do expect updates on some major research projects! 📚

📣 I’m running for office! 📣

Well, within #ICA. Elections are now open and I’m running for Vice Chair of the Activism, Communication, and Social Justice interest group!

Please consider voting for me if you are an ACSJ member: https://www.icahdq.org/surveys/?id=activism2024

Hit an important career milestone today.
I can’t believe I finally get to say this, but my book is officially available for preorder now! I’m so immensely proud of this book and can’t wait for people to engage with it out in the real world. If you want to support me, you can preorder at www.voicesfortransequality.com!

Serious question: what is going to happen to journalism now that Twitter is dying and its audience is fragmenting across mastodon, bluesky, threads, spill, and I’m sure countless more contenders to come?
Do you think I could feed ChatGPT my whole book manuscript and make it generate the back cover copy? Because I have no idea what to write 😭
Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a wonderful year. Here’s to next year being even better!

As for personal accomplishments, I got to travel with my partner, his mother, and two of his siblings, running around Paris with them, as well as showing them two of the cities I grew up in and love most—Vienna and Prague.

I traveled to Seattle to witness Rachel get married, traveled to Oklahoma City to see one of my partner’s friends get married, and traveled back to Maryland to see one of my cousins get married. I saw lots of great shows, made lots of great food, and oh yeah turned 30!
