Plastic shitboxes are a very lucrative segment of the laptop market. I don't think the $600 Macbook will be displacing $200-$300 Chromebooks anytime soon.

If "small models" is the bar, then you can run inference for ~$50 on Raspberry Pi like hardware. I do that with 1.8b-4b models.

I was equally impressed/terrified by Apple's marketing blitz around client-side-scanning. So many people got paid to advocate for that, and the community barely convinced them it was a bad idea. There's not much hope left for any of FAANG deliberately resisting surveillance.

Your beliefs are likely out of alignment with international consensus, putting it politely. You should know better, as a public figure (hopefully) seeking public approval, than to air this out in public. This is my honest, completely unbiased and truly begging-for-mercy opinion as someone who does still respect you. It's a terrible faux-pas for anyone to make, so why are you choosing to step on these landmines? I'm disappointed.

As for my goybucks, I'll take the piss wherever I want. If you want to disregard my opinion for making light of the situation at my own expense, that's your choice to make. I won't deprive you of it. I've said my part and I thank you for reading it. Have a nice weekend!

That is not a response to what I wrote. His citation of the Golan Heights as Israeli territory is wrong, deliberately provocative and intellectually dishonest. He knows it, which is why he's unwilling to redress the comment and apologized for the provocation (eg. "picking this scab" in his words).
