RIP Gene Hackman. One of my earliest favorite film villains. A role you can come back to again and again and always find some new funny choice he’s made in every scene. Which is true for all his work—terrific at every turn. From The French Connection to Mississippi Burning to The Royal Tenenbaums. His work has been a gift to us all. Thank you, Mr. Hackman.
